Welcome to Punjabi Circle International

Having been involved in the asian music circuit throughout the 80s, and promoting such musical legends as the late Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Ustad Mehdi Hasan, Reshma and nearly each and every musical artiste from India and Pakistan, the list is endless, not to forget the promotion of nearly every Bhangra group of the 80s such as Alaap, Heera, Premi, and many many more. He was instrumental in organising at least 200 concerts, in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Conference Centre, Barbican, Royal Festival Hall and again many more up and down the country.

After 10 years of musical promotion and whilst still running his sucessful businesses he decided to concentrate his efforts and spare time towards charitable and social cultural activities and got involved with various organisations such as World Punjabi Organisation, Nargis Dutt Cancer Research, Asian Whos Who, India Development Trust, Sikh Forum, Voice of Kenya, Guru Nanak Sikh School (Hayes), and any other organisation that approached him and required his assistance, and to date he holds high positions in most of these organisations. He is proud of the fact that whichever organisation he has established or involved with he has been totally focused and committed.

Having been involved with various societies, he decided to launch the Bucks Punjabi Society in July 2006. The launch function at the Bull hotel in Gerrads Cross, Bucks, was a great success attended by 200 plus guests from all over the UK. The function was also attended by a member of Parliment Rt Hon Dominic Grieve (the first patron of the society, Lords, and leaders from other organistations. For the first time in UK history, a Punjabi organistaion had been launched with it's base in the UK, as all the others have been chapters of Indian Punjabi Societies.

The focus of the Bucks Punjabi society has always been towards charitable activities, community cohesion, and promoting the rich Punjabi culture and heritage. We are the first organistion to involve the youth and the ladies. Funds raised through various activities have been donated to the Great Ormond Street hospital, the Air Ambulance, Thames Valley Crime Stoppers, and many others . To date approxamtly £80,000 has been donated to much needed charities. For his philanthropic efforts and years of voluntary work he was honoured by her Majesty the queen 2011, and awarded the Order of the British Empire .

"Punjabi Circle International"a global Punjabi organisation is the brainchild and vision of Mr Nirpal Singh Riat OBE, and it was officially launched at his residence in December 2009. The function was attended by various politicians, lords, asian media, punjabi poets, musical artistes, and prominent members of the asian community. Once again the aims and objectives of Punjabi Cicle International will be similar to the Bucks Punjabi Society except it will be a global organistaion working for Punjabi diasphora, the Head office choosen is right in the heart of Southall, which is recognised world-wide as the hub of the punjabi community. In years to come we will be highlighting the efforts of Punjabi's which ever field they have excelled in, be it Education, Business, Sports, Social work, Cultural work, Art and Music, and in any other forms that help promote Punjabi's.
